Entry for =popcorn1010s contest. (: Basically, design a monster. Any kind, any colours, anything. I had so much fun. x3 The only rule was to keep the canvas size 600x400, which I did. Wee.

This is Sorh, the Sorrow-bringer. I was thinking that each emotion has a monster that makes us feel that emotion. And this would be Sorrow.. yea.
I was actually thinking about this, at least some. The legs are short because a deep sorrow or a depression gets you nowhere. The main colours are gray because gray is gloomy, sad, dull. Sorrow can get dull as well, you know. Though there are contrasts between the two main colours because there are still different kinds of sorrows. Some kinds are healthy for you once you get past them, which is shown by the bright bands on the front legs. The dark colours stand for depression, which spreads on you like a disease. Hence the spottishness. It's creeping up on Sorh from behind. D:
The big poofy mane is because you need comfort (though that one is kinda lame at least it looks good on him). It's the same colour as depression because I think that you find comfort in being able to be so sad, and that's why you end up depressed, since you don't have any will from getting out of it. In a way, that becomes a safety. I've never been depressed so I can't know, but I think it could be that way
The tail is long because real sorrow goes on for a long time. The bloodmarkings and claws on the front paws resemble the pain.
Lastly, at the tip of his tail we have a tear. He strokes it on your eyes to make you cry.

The name is the old english word for Sorrow, which in turn is derived from the Germanic languages, so let's say his brothers and sisters are called Surgö, Surga, Zorg, Sorge and Sorg. (Last one Swedish, wohoo!)
